Legal Credit Card Debt Elimination
Looking for a way to legally eliminate credit card debt? There are lots!
Knowledge is Power
You may have heard of credit card debt elimination programs, but you're afraid of what they'll do to your credit or that they aren't legal. If you've heard horror stories about debt management programs, that's understandable. But the fact of the matter is that there are lots of debt management programs out there, and they are all considered to be legal credit card debt elimination. In fact, even Congress is supporting these programs. Last year they enacted a law that says anyone who's filing for bankruptcy has to enroll in a debt management program first. Even they know that there are good, legal credit card debt elimination programs out there to help people. They even have a listing of legal credit card debt elimination companies on their website.
Of course, you can also call your creditors and ask them if there are any debt management companies they work with on a regular basis. If the same companies' names come up several times, you know those are probably not only legal credit card debt elimination companies, but they can probably score you some really big reductions in your credit card debt. While you're at it, why not ask how they report your participation in such programs?
If you're still concerned, why not contact one of the three credit reporting agencies to see how they view a consumer's participation in a debt management program. Chances are it will depend on how your creditors report it to them. But most legal credit card debt elimination programs (except maybe debt settlement) can only help your credit.
