Become Debt Free!
How does one become debt free? Its a simple question with a surprisingly simply answer: stop spending money you don't have. Yet as with everything else in the world of finance this is much easier said than done, and indeed the only way to achieve the dream of debt free living is to make the decision, stick to your guns and follow through.
Avoid temptation and become debt free
The opportunity to spend money is everywhere - shopping malls, cars and houses, nights out with the friends, a lifestyle, a choice. Well, if you are serious about this desire to become debt free, every choice you make need to be dominated by the bottom line:
- Budget out your income to the dime, being sure to set aside a substantial savings so you can avoid falling into debt from further emergencies.
- Keep to your budget - burn your credit cards, forget about personal loans, focus on paying off your current loans and maintaining yourself without needing credit.
- Keep to your budget. Even after you are completely debt free, you still run the risk of sliding back into those old debt ways, ruining everything you've struggled so hard for.
Everyone wants to become debt free, not everyone has the patience or perseverance to make it happen.
Is debt freedom really all its cracked up to be?
The craziest thing about debt is that most people who want to become debt free actually benefit from some of the debts they possess, and would do well to hang onto those debts for as long as possible. Cars and houses are bought with loans, and these loans are long running debts with low APRs and high dollar amounts that make living life in a cash-dominated culture actually possible. Sometimes debt is an essential component to the American way, so make absolutely sure you are ready and able to become debt free, and aren't just frustrated by the debts you now have.
